A SPORTS club has had a boost after receiving a grant from the Football Foundation.

The Warsash Wasps sports and football club has received £148,421, which will go towards developing an artificial training pitch.

The project has cost £310,073 in total and included a grant of £100,000 from Fareham Borough Council.

The project, called Weatherproof Wasps, will allow all-weather training for all squads.

Chairman at Warsash Wasps SFC Mike Ashley said: ‘The provision of the Weatherproof Wasps facility will mean that the largest FA charter standard community club in the area has the best training facilities to go with our existing sports hall and grass pitches.’
