HAMPSHIRE County Council leader Cllr Ken Thornber has made a grant of £6,000 to the crew of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The money is to purchase new helmets for the crew of the air ambulance.

Cllr Thornber said ‘Hampshire is a mainly rural county and therefore it’s vital that these swift and potentially life-saving missions continue to be carried out by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

‘Its front-line efforts are an essential lifeline and a crucial support to work in a number of areas, including schools, care homes, hospitals, police, fire and ambulance services to name but a few.’

The air ambulance has expressed its thanks.
