GENEROUS shoppers donated hundreds of pounds to help run Gosport’s Radio Haslar.

People from the radio station, which broadcasts to staff and patients at Gosport War Memorial Hospital, held a collection at the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Broadcut, Fareham. Shoppers donated £737 to the collection on March 31 and April 1.

Simon Defty, from Radio Haslar, said: ‘The total money raised will be used for the purpose of maintaining a broadcasting service to the staff and patients of Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

‘The members would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who donated to the collection for their kind generosity.’
