Cathedral hosts groups' vigil for refugees

A VIGIL is set to be held for refugees.

Michael Woolley from Friends Without Borders, based in Portsmouth, and Roger Pask from Sanctuary in Chichester will be at St Thomas’s Chapel at Portsmouth Cathedral, in Old Portsmouth.

They will start the Lenten Vigil with morning prayer at 7.45am before going to the chapel and remain there until 5.45pm on March 14.

Five-minute reflections will be held on the hour, every hour until Evensong at 6pm.

Mr Woolley said: ‘It is a long day and they would very much appreciate people joining them – for as short or as long a time as wished.’

People are asked to join in silent prayer.
