THE Catholic Bishop of Portsmouth has marked 22 years service in the city with a mass.
St John’s Cathedral in Portsmouth was packed for Bishop Crispian Hollis’s thanksgiving on Saturday with every parish in the diocese represented.
As part of the procession at the mass, symbols of his ministry and life in the diocese were brought forward.
This included a Pompey football shirt as a sign of his involvement in the life of the city as well as his loyalty to the team.
Bishop Crispian said his years in Portsmouth had been the happiest of his life. He thanked everyone for their part played in the life of the diocese, and also thanked them for their prayers, best wishes and support during his recent treatment for cancer.
