Chance to learn and talk about local mental health servicesÂ

MIND, iTalk, Off The Record and The Samaritans are just some of the agencies that will be attending a Mental Health Awareness Day.Â

Community First's Positive Pathways Project is holding a '˜Positive Living'  day at Leigh Park Community Centre for people who are affected by mental health issues and want to find services in their area.

Positive Pathways coordinator Ina Allum said: '˜We have organised this Positive Living event to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day, where we wanted to raise awareness about mental health and to give people the opportunity to find out about the services that are available to them.

'˜This event is open to all, whether you want to find out more information for a family member, a friend, or you may be feeling life is getting too much yourself.

'˜I would encourage anyone to come along and talk to the variety of people who will be here to help. It is a free event and there is plenty of tea, coffee and cake.'

As well as the information stands, there will be an opportunity to find out about Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, learn the basics of reflexology and try your hand at jewellery making.

Deputy Mayor of Havant, Councillor Diana Patrick, will be opening the event at 10am on Monday, September 10 and it runs until 1pm.
