She’s the reigning Miss Hampshire, and now Portsmouth beauty queen Channon Kail hopes to add another crown to her collection
The 20-year-old is competing in the Miss England finals in Southport which finish tonight.
Channon is one of 50 finalists vying for the title.
The human resources administrator said it was a privilege to be representing her home city and county in the contest.
Speaking from the Miss England finals in Southport, Channon said: ‘I want to make everyone who has supported me proud.
‘The atmosphere has been really friendly so far.
‘All the girls are in the same boat and we are all supporting each other. I am loving every second and I never want it to end.’
Yesterday, Channon took part in the Miss Sports Woman round and the Eco Talent and Eco final, where she had to create a recycled outfit for a catwalk show.
Before the event, Channon said: ‘I am feeling very excited about the Eco round as my outfit is very special to me and something that I feel passionate about.
‘But I’m feeling apprehensive about the sports rounds as other girls have trained for months and I am not as sporty as them but I will try my best.’
Since winning Miss Hampshire, Channon has used her title to help the local community, attending a number of charitable events and hosting her own casino fundraiser.
Tonight the Miss England winner will be crowned, walking away with the title and a £25,000 prize.
They will then represent the nation at the next Miss World. That’s an achievement Channon, of Paulsgrove, would like to fulfil.
She said: ‘If I were to win Miss England I would be over the moon. To think that I was selected out of 22,000 entrants to represent England would be an honour.’
