A FAREHAM charity has thanked punters for helping to raise hundreds of pounds in a pub-themed fundraiser.

Raise a Glass for Rainbow saw 38 pubs from Fareham and Portsmouth take part.

Punters either had to pay an extra 10 per cent for their drink, or they were asked to make a donation to the charity every time they bought one.

A total of £700 was raised with all money going to the charity, which supports children with cerebral palsy.

The Crown Inn in Fareham raised £412.

Clare Acklam, fundraising manager, said: ‘Thank you to all the pubs that took part in this initiative.

‘We are delighted with the response and community support for Rainbow.’
