A GROUP which looks after the welfare of homeless horses and ponies in the area is to hold an open day.

The South Hants Pony and Horse Protection Group will be holding the free event on Sunday, July 7, from 12.30pm until 5pm at its stables at Oaklands, Lake Road, Curdridge.

The charity is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of ponies and horses.

The event will be family-friendly, and a chance to meet the horses and ponies, as well as have an afternoon of attractions with a fairy tale theme.

They will include a horsemanship display, parade of horses, a bouncy castle, games and stalls, rifle range and refreshments.
