LETTER OF THE DAY: Why tear up our Peace Garden?

Have your say

THERE are still plenty of tickets left for the UK’s first Wizard of Oz singalong film in aid of the Dorothy’s Dream appeal.

The charity screening will take place at the Kings Theatre in Southsea and will raise money for The Rowans Hospice’s campaign to provide a service to support people to die in their own homes.

Fans of the movie classic will be able to sing along to all the hit songs such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and We’re Off to See the Wizard.

The audience are invited to dress up as characters such as Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, Glinda the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch.

Ali George, events fundraiser for The Rowans, said: ‘The evening promises to be great fun with a warm-up, fancy dress competition and on-screen lyrics so that everyone can join in with their favourite songs.’

The event takes place on Friday, April 1, at 7pm.

Tickets are £10 and are available from the Kings Theatre box office on (023) 9282 8282.
