Charity urges people to think of all others

COMMITTED to helping families across the city, it's now our turn to help this charity.
Staff from The Roberts Centre joined together at Landport Community Centre to mark the launch of the 'Find Robert The Bear' Competition. The aim is for people to take photos of their bears in interesting parts of the Portsmouth/Gosport/Fareham/Havant/Waterlooville areas.

The Roberts Centre in Portsmouth has supported people in the city for over 30 years tackling issues including homelessness and mental health.

This year the service will be supported by The News Comfort and Joy Christmas Campaign.

Carole Damper said: ‘Christmas is a time when our thoughts are drawn to the plight of those less fortunate.

‘Being homeless is so much more than not having a roof over your head.

‘It helps to have times when our concern can be focused and this Christmas campaign will enable us to show our compassion.’

The centre has improved the lives of 17,000 families.

Carole added: ‘The wonderful thing about this campaign is that it makes it easy to be part of giving someone, who is going through a difficult time, a gift of choice and a message there are others who care.
