Charity walk will raise cash for Portsmouth hospitals

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital, is holding the event which raises money for either a ward chosen by the participants or The Rocky Appeal.

Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km route at Staunton Country Park, in Havant. There will also be a cake sale, picnic area and snack bar.

Victoria Greenshields, fundraising manager for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity, said: ‘The Ward Walk will be a fantastic opportunity for the community to rally together in support of their hospital.

‘The event will be a fun-filled day with all funds raised being used to benefit current and future patients being treated within Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.’

The walk is on Sunday, May 22, at 10.30am. It costs £2 per person to register with a suggested minimum sponsorship of £15. For information and to register contact the fundraising team on (023) 9228 6000 then extension 5927.
