Southsea teenager found after going missing for four days

A HUGE call centre in Havant has thrown its support behind the British Red Cross.

A dozen staff from Southern Electric spent the day calling hundreds of schools and youth organisations in the area to tell them about one of the charity’s fundraising events.

The Dance For Life scheme gets young people to choreograph a dance routine to reflect an aspect of the charity’s work.

Since 2006 it has raised around £250,000 to help vulnerable people in this country and abroad.

Shannon Adamson, from Southern Electric, said: ‘We’d heard about Dance for Life from the Red Cross and we asked them whether there was any way we could help this year. A large proportion of our 2,000-plus staff here spend their day on the phone – we really can talk all day long! So when they asked whether we could make some calls, it seemed like an ideal way to do them a good turn.

‘It’s been brilliant doing this.’
