‘Absolute delight’ as Hayling College secures ‘good’ Ofsted grade

A NURSERY has won high praise from Ofsted for its nurturing environment and clear vision of staff members.

Hopscotch Day Nursery, in the High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent, won a 'good' Ofsted grading following an inspection two months ago.

It won 'outstanding' points in three categories including children's safety and children making a positive contribution in class.

Moreover the leadership were commended for their strong vision, monitoring of all children individually and ensuring there are enough staff members for each class of youngsters.

All children were said to make consistent progress, and all of them were given many opportunities to practice their emerging writing skills.

Inspector Lisa Cupples said: 'All children are happy and settled during their time at the nursery.

'The entire staff team take the time to get to know the children and their families well, which enables them to fully support every child, helping them to make good progress towards the early learning goals.

'Rigorous systems are in place to ensure all children are safe and secure and their welfare requirements are successfully promoted.

'All staff and the management team continually evaluate the effectiveness of the nursery to identify the strengths and any areas for development and take action to drive improvement for the benefit of children.'
