SHOPPERS can get their presents wrapped as Christians and Muslims will be offering a free service as a gesture of solidarity, peace and goodwill.

People from churches and mosques in Fareham will offer the service in Fareham Shopping Centre, outside BHS and Debenhams on Monday from 4pm till 8pm.

The Rev Sally Davenport, chair of Christians Together in Fareham and Sheikh Fazle Abbas Datoo, Resident Alim for the local Muslim community said the event, which was planned before the recent tragic events in Paris, Nigeria, Lebanon and in the Middle East, was a ‘small act of service which reflects our shared belief that peace on earth, goodwill to all – the Christmas message – is shared by Christians and Muslims.’
