AN MP has announced her Christmas card design winner.

Little Lucie Johnson-Allan, six, was crowned the winner of Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage’s annual festive competition.

The Rowner Infants School pupil’s Christmas in London design has been printed on Ms Dinenage’s cards this year.

She said: ‘This year’s decision was tough due to the number of fantastic designs so it was fantastic to meet my short-listed artists in my Christmas card competition – they are all extremely talented with artistic skills, imagination and creativity.

‘Given the promise they are showing at such young ages, I am sure that there are great things in store for these budding artists and I look forward to receiving their entries next year.’

The winner of the third annual Christmas card design competition was announced at Gosport Discovery Centre on Friday.

Runners up, whose designs feature on the back, were:

n Keira Garrett from Holbrook Primary School.

n Sophie Thompson from Alverstoke Infants School.

n Ava Rattley from Gomer Junior School.

n Travis Underwood from Holbrook Primary School.

Plenty of designs were
submitted and 12 were shortlisted.

Brett Reynolds-James and Ellie Reynolds-Mustoe, both from Holbrook Primary School, were both highly commended.

Caitlin Pogson from Rowner Infants School and George Knight, Owen Johns, Keira Wright and Skyler Scollan, all from Holbrook Primary School, were commended.

All entries are on display at the discovery centre until January 9.

Judges on the panel this year were the Mayor of Gosport Councillor Keith Farr, businessman Steve Reid from Blitz Photography, in Stoke Road, and Robin Young from the online hyperlocal newspaper, Gosport Globe.
