THOSE who have lost a loved one are being invited to dedicate a memory star to them this Christmas.
Christmas trees have been put up in Southern Co-op’s Co-operative Funeralcare branches across Hampshire so families and friends can place memory stars on their branches throughout December.
The idea is to give everyone the opportunity to write a personal message to someone who is no longer with them.
Locally there are branches in Bishop’s Waltham, Copnor, Cosham, Cowplain, Eastney, Emsworth, Fareham, Fratton, Gosport, Hayling Island, Leigh Park, North End, Paulsgrove, Gosport, Southsea, Waterlooville, Widley.
All memorial trees will remain in the reception area of each funeral home until the end of the Christmas season.
Ingrid McAllister-Derry, from Southern Co-op’s bereavement centre, said: ‘The memory stars give people the opportunity to re-live happy moments and make sure their loved ones are still included in this special time of year.’
