On Saturday the tower will light up again, in yellow, in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s national MayDay campaign.

A yellow reflection will be thrown over Gunwharf Quays and Portsmouth Harbour, creating a backdrop on waters synonymous with a rich naval history and the hundreds of rescues carried out by the local RNLI lifeboat station over the years.

Four RNLI volunteer crew members will abseil down the tower at about 4pm.
