Stars of silent cinema, Laurel and Hardy's catchphrase is their look, not their words.
And in these days of computer-aided film and high-octane action, there is still a place in our hearts for the hapless twosome.
The laughter could be heard for miles, said Kings' Theatre staff, when a Laurel and Hardy film was screened on Wednesday.
And the audience certainly got in the thick of it by dressing up as the slapstick double-act.
'It was part of the King's Theatre film festival, and to tie in with the fact the West End stage show of Laurel and Hardy is to come here,' said the theatre's Sandra Smith.
'The laughter in the theatre was fantastic.
'People were walking out with tears in their eyes.
'So many of them asked us to put more on in the future, so watch this space.'
The West End production is set to start on Tuesday, September 28, from 7.30pm.
