Clean for the Queen event organised for Lee-on-the-Solent

GREEN-fingered volunteers have organised a cleaning event inspired by the Queen's birthday.

People living in Gosport have put together an event in Lee-on-the-Solent called Clean for the Queen.

The round-the-Solent beach clean has been organised by Solent Environmental Action.

This is the second Clean for the Queen event they have organised, with the first at Meon Shore this Saturday.

Graham Smith, from the organisation, is encouraging more people and areas to get involved and has written to Gosport council leader Mark Hook about more options in the town.

The Lee-on-the-Solent event is on March 5 at 10am.

Volunteers are meeting at Olympia Amusements on Marine Parade West.
