CLEARING litter along a stream was the goal of a community clean-up day.
Volunteers pitched in to help beautify Hermitage Stream in Leigh Park, which is regularly used by schools, colleges and family learning centres as an outdoor classroom.
Steve and Lisa Gough were part of the clean-up along with eight colleagues who work at the Havant office of firm Pfizer.
Mrs Gough said: ‘As residents of Leigh Park it is important for us to give something back to the community and we have thoroughly enjoyed spending the morning making it a better place to be enjoyed by our neighbours.
‘Over the past three years we have seen a transformation of the Hermitage Stream area since Groundwork Solent have been supporting local residents to look after the stream.’
‘It is noticeable that more people use the pathway next to the stream to walk to work and it is a nicer place to visit.’
The stream is looked after by Groundwork Solent as part of the Go With The Flow Project.
