PEOPLE in Gosport are being asked to be environmentally friendly by taking household waste to the recycling centre.

Gosport Borough Council is reminding people that all the usual items can be recycled in their kerbside recycling bins.

This includes plastic bottles, drinks cans, food tins, paper, and cardboard.

It comes as many people have been celebrating the Olympics.

Councillor Graham Burgess, chairman of Gosport’s Community Board, said: ‘The Olympics has been absolutely fantastic, and I know many residents have been taking advantage of this to spend quality time watching with family and friends.

‘Just remember, that by recycling all you can, and putting the correct thing in the correct bin, you are winning a gold for the environment too.’
