CLUB SCENE with Char Edmonds

Have your say

Last weekend Mutiny took over Fontwell Park with some massive headline acts, along with a massive army of Portsmouth’s finest local DJs. By all accounts it went off with a bang and it was a huge success. Well done to the dedicated team behind it as they pulled off something pretty special.

Tonight you can head on over to Drift Bar on Palmerston Road, where you can head upstairs and get out of the muggy climate we seem to have going on at the moment, as they have newly installed air con.

The creators of Waster take to the decks with DeathPOP. Every Friday from 10.30pm until 3am catch DJ Hatty and Will Chump, supplying you with the best rock, rave, funk and punk you could ask for.

They’re also offering some special £1.50 drinks. Entry is free before 11pm and £5 after.

Tomorrow, Snug is back at The Old Barn in Milton with a wicked headliner. This time they present to you Trevor Rockcliffe from 9pm until 3am.

Not only have they secured a great headliner, but its also a joint birthday celebration for local DJs Chris Vaux and Gav Daruvalla who will be joining Trevor on the line-up.

The birthday boys have been a fan of Rockcliffe since sets at Remember Tomorrow and PunchFunk and have often shown him support on his numerous visits to Portsmouth over the course of his very successful career.

Advance tickets are £3 from or it’s £5 on the door.

Also tomorrow you can join COR and their amazing American Cup All Dayer, taking place at the Pyramids Centre from 1pm until 11am. Civilization of the Rough (COR) are well known for their random pop-up parties, and they’ve only gone and got the perfect backdrop for their Balearic setting with the yacht racing coinciding with their event.

Along with the COR residents playing on rotation, there will also be a delicious barbecue with a whole host of locally-sourced goodies.

Entry is free but I warn you their events get busy so head down early.
