Colour your little finger purple to beat polio

Have your say

PURPLE pinkies are helping to rid the world of polio.

The Rotary Club of Fareham has joined a campaign to encourage people to dye their little fingers purple to raise awareness and money to fight the disease.

Club president Bob Mussellwhite said people were being asked to use a washable purple ink pen to colour their little fingers and take a photo of it.

He said: ‘We thought it would be a great idea to put our purple pinkies in a photo, anywhere in the world, to raise the vital funds needed. It could be pointed at the Spinnaker Tower, a castle, or something much more imaginative, it’s up to you.

‘Once you have done that just post your picture on your Facebook page, share it with your friends, and invite them to donate.

‘Why not add it to our special Facebook page too – look for Purple Pinkie Rotary Club of Fareham.’

Donations can be made by texting PPPP16 and the amount you want to give, for example, £3, to 70070.
