FAREHAM Shopping Centre is encouraging children to get involved with Fareham Borough Council’s annual Fareham in Bloom event, by holding a colouring competition.

The theme of the competition is life on the beach, as the shopping centre wants children in the area to be inspired by the coastline they have on their doorstep.

In addition to the sand and pebbles there are many interesting plants that grow on our beaches to inspire budding artists.

In the past the competition has proved successful and allows the council the chance to interact with the younger members of the community.

Centre manager, Mike Taylor said: ‘We always have an amazing number of entries from our young shoppers and the standard gets better each year.’

The winning entrants will receive a prize hamper, receive a Next voucher for £25 and meet the Mayor at the Fareham in Bloom Civic Awards in September.
