LETTER OF THE DAY: Commercial Road needs a makeover

THE last community day being held by a fire station takes place next week.

But firefighters vowed to bring them back in the new year.

Back in March, Cosham fire station, in Wayte Street, Cosham, launched the Cosham Community Days, which took place each Monday this year.

This Monday will be the last community day being held in 2012, but due to their success, they will return in 2013.

Firefighter Glen Willie, who helped organise the events, said: ‘We have no doubt the community days will be back again next year.

‘We’ve had some people come back each week, while others have been supporting when they can.

‘It will carry on next year.’

The community days give people a chance to visit the station, learn more about fire safety and book in home safety visits.

They can also pick up information from other companies that might be visiting, such as courses at South Downs College.

The community day runs from 10am to 2pm.
