AN ASSORTMENT of princesses, fairies and even the Mad Hatter turned up for nursery school.

Children at Farlington Day Nursery, in Havant Road, raided their dressing up boxes to raise money for Comic Relief.

Babies and older children, up to the age of four, wore some weird and wonderful costumes yesterday, each paying £1 which will go towards Red Nose Day on Friday.

Hannah Blake, manager of the nursery, said: ‘They all looked great.

‘We had lots of princesses and Peppa Pigs, Spiderman and even a cowboy. They all had a great day playing with Comic Relief stickers and balloons.

‘On Thursday we are also having a danceathon. One of our mums, Hayley Sexton, is coming in to lead an hour-long dance session. All the children are being sponsored and will get a medal and certificate once they’ve completed it and handed their sponsorship money in.’
