A PUB is to host local auditions for Britain’s Got Talent.

Music promoter Nick Courtney is staging a night at Little Johnny Russells in Albert Road, Southsea, on Thursday, July 28 which will be looking for hopefuls to throw their hat in the ring to appear on the hit TV show.

It is for all ages and aimed at any type of performance.

Last year pianist and singer Isaac Waddington, then 15, from Portchester came fifth in the final of Britain’s Got Talent.

Mr Courtney has previously run auditions at the venue for The Voice and The X Factor.

He said: ‘When we did The Voice a few weeks ago we did 26 performers and at least 10 got through to the London auditions.

‘This time it’s not just for singers – we’d like to hear from people who can do something different as well.’

The night runs from 7pm to 11pm although under-18s must appear before 9.30pm.

Each performer will be allocated a 10-minute slot.

The slots must be booked in advance – to register interest email Mr Courtney at nick@victoriousfestival.co.uk.
