HELP for Heroes merchandise will be on sale outside supermarkets across the country thanks to generous volunteers.

Gavin Griffin, from Landport, is one of those who will give up their time to run a stall outside Asda, in the Bridge Centre, Fratton, over the weekend of May 12 and 13.

The 40-year-old is one of hundreds of people who will also be collecting for the charity – which supports injured servicemen and women – outside 320 Asda stores nationwide in a massive co-ordinated effort over one weekend.

He said: ‘I signed up to take part to show my support for injured men and women who are doing a sterling job on our behalf.

‘I wanted to show my thanks to those injured in defence of our country and to help them back on the road to recovery.’

Help is needed to collect donations and man the stall which will be open during shop opening hours.

Mr Griffin has appealed for help with collecting donations and anyone interested should register online at
