Council investigates illegal fly-tipping of 500 tyres in Chichester
Chichester District Council is appealing to residents for information following the fly-tipping in seven rural locations since August 21.
The village of Colworth has experienced two incidents, with a total of 50 tyres being dumped.Â

Hide AdOfficers believe the incidents may be linked, and follow a series of similar incidents involving tyres in the Arun district.
Cllr Roger Barrow, cabinet member for residents' services, said: '˜The number of tyres dumped in such a short space of time is unprecedented.
'˜Fly tipping is unsightly and damages our environment.
'˜It is also expensive '“ each year our council spends more than £52,000 clearing illegally dumped waste from our district. Items like tyres need to be specially disposed of so this costs local tax payers even more.'
