HAVANT Borough Council is offering watersports taster sessions for residents as part of the National Watersports Festival.

The sessions will run from Friday, September 4, until Sunday September 6, at Beachlands in Hayling Island.

The national event has been sponsored by the council this year and it is keen to get residents involved in the festivities.

The weekend will include kitesurfing, kayaking, stand -up paddle boarding and wind surfing along with live music and themed parties.

Councillor Yvonne Weeks said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for residents in the borough to experience watersports in a safe and capable environment.

‘The borough is proud to be supporting this event again, which is the biggest of its type in the country, and an experience not to be missed.’

Spaces for each session are limited so the council advises to book in advance.

Each session cost £10. To book and for more information, call (023) 9266 3873.
