Couple's icy swim to raise charity cash
A FAREHAM couple are to head for the icy waters of northern England to raise funds for a cancer charity.
David and June Brown from Fareham will compete in a team of six at the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere next Saturday where they will each swim an icy mile.
They have already smashed their £600 target to raise funds for Dimbleby Cancer Care.
The couple’s friend Sarah Ernst, who is a member of the swimming team, had used the charity’s services last year after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Around 10,000 people will take part.
