Cousin's tribute to Mike Stratton after Gosport bridge tragedy

Mike Stratton, 27, pictured, is believed to have jumped off Jackie Spencer Bridge in Gosport at about 2pm on Saturday.

A major hunt took place before his body was found on Sunday morning.

His cousin Maria Bell said: ‘Mike was a rock to me and my children last year while I was going through a marriage break-up.

‘We didn’t meet until two years ago when he started working for my dad at Hampshire Environmental Services. He was really proud a few weeks back for passing a test required to work on site.

‘I wish we’d met sooner, he is going to be missed so much.

‘We are sending our thoughts to his mum and family.’
