A CAR was destroyed by a fire after a blaze broke out in the engine compartment.

One crew from Havant was called to Havant Road, in Emsworth.

They arrived to find a Volvo estate on fire and two firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reels to put out the blaze.

It happened at 11.55am yesterday and the crew was on scene for an hour and a half.
