A SERIAL shoplifter has been jailed.

Lucy Willett admitted committing three thefts in less than a month when she appeared before Portsmouth magistrates.

The 31-year-old, from Kingston Road, Portsmouth, stole £45 of meat from the Co-op in Copnor Road on April 25.

Less than two weeks earlier she stole £40 of clothes from New Look in Westbury Mall, Fareham.

Then on April 9 Willett fled Monsoon in Cascades shopping centre, Portsmouth, with £300 of clothes.

Willett admitted failing to answer bail and pleaded guilty to committing the three crimes while she was subject to a community order for theft.

She was sentenced to 28 days in prison.

Magistrates made no order for costs or compensation.
