POLICE say a high-value burglary at a fishing shop must have been planned.

Manning’s Fishing Tackle Shop, in London Road, Widley, was targeted just before 2am on Sunday.

Around £45,000 worth of high-value stock was taken. A group of men were seen loading items into a van from the shop.

Detective Constable Pete Bambury said: ‘This burglary at a local business premises has had a devastating effect on the owner.

‘It seems this was a planned theft with the burglars selecting the most valuable stock.

‘I am hoping that someone may have seen the burglary taking place or has even been offered the items for sale.’

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have seen the stolen fishing tackle for sale should contact Det Con Bambury at Waterlooville CID on 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
