JEWELLERY worth £5,000 was stolen in a burglary.

The thieves struck at a home in Braintree Road, Cosham, Portsmouth, fleeing with gold and silver jewellery.

They also took a large dark red plastic carrier bag which police believe was used to carry the stolen items between 10am and 10.30am on December 5.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in Braintree Road or Sudbury Road that day is urged to call PC Nicholas Jackson at Fratton police station on 101.
