TREASURED jewellery worth more than £5,000 was stolen in a burglary.

Thieves fled with three rings, including an engagement ring and other jewels after breaking into the home in Alver Road, Kingston, Portsmouth.

They stole an 18-carat yellow gold diamond engagement ring and a silver Tiffany ring with a square blue stone.

The burglars also fled with a one-carat diamond ring with two blue sapphires either side.

The thefts happened between 1pm and 6.40pm on Saturday. Police have only just released details.
