A LANDLORD discovered an abandoned cannabis factory when he went to check his house after tenants failed to pay rent.

Police called to Fawcett Road in Southsea discovered 207 dead plants.

The plants – some up to a foot tall in height – were in two rooms and the loft.

The factory was dismantled after police were alerted on Friday.

Police said the factory appeared to have been left for some time.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘There was no one in the property when police attended and there have been no arrests.

‘Anyone with information about who was growing the cannabis or who has any information about the crime is asked to contact the CID team at Fratton on 101.’

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
