FESTIVE pubgoers will be given advice about safe drinking levels on Friday.

The Gosport Community Safety team will catch people on their way to the pub in the town’s High Street to raise awareness of safe drinking limits.

They will give out information packs to customers to celebrating their last day of work before the holidays.

Gosport Borough Council’s leader, Councillor Mark Hook, said: ‘We all realise Christmas is the time for celebrating and it will probably begin with a drink after work on Friday.

‘We don’t wish to dampen anyone’s festivities, but we want to encourage people to have a safe night out.’

He added: ‘Often people don’t realise how many units there are in drinks and before you know it you are over the limit.’

The team will be there from 2pm to 6pm.
