THIEVES stole a poppy collection tin filled with donations for the Royal British Legion.

Now St James’ Church in Emsworth has launched an appeal for information.

Churchwarden Tony Harris said: ‘The Armistice Day service has taken place in our church for 85 years.

‘We had around 400 people in the church. The poppy box was full.’

The box was stolen between November 8 and November 10. Call police on 101 or Tony on 01243 372029.
