POLICE are appealing for information after a man stole a card reader from a petrol station.

The man walked into the Shell garage in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea, and tried to buy a Peperami snack with a credit card.

The card was declined, and the man left the shop, taking the meat and the shop’s card reader device with him.

Police have now released this CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.

It happened at around 2.40am on April 9.

Police investigator Rod Jebb said: ‘Take note of the tattoos on the left arm of the suspect.

‘This behaviour did cause considerable inconvenience to the petrol station.’
