THIEVES have stolen war medals from the Port Solent home of a former Royal Marine.

Burglars entered the a home on Sennen Place in Port Solent through the front door between 7.10am and 5.10pm on Monday, March 10.

Seven medals belonging to the 51-year-old victim were taken.

Each of the medals included the name, rank, and service number (P039306F) of the former marine.

The items taken were:

· A Bosnia service medal.

· A Falklands medal.

· A medal from the first Gulf war

· A long service and good conduct medal.

· A Nato service medal.

· A Northern Ireland medal.

· A Queens golden jubilee medal.

Also taken were a silver Macbook laptop, an I-Pad, personal documentation and a Nike wristwatch were stolen.
