AN air pistol and a number of expensive watches were among the items stolen in a burglary.

Thieves damaged a back door to get into a house in St Ursula Grove, Southsea, at about 3pm on Monday.

A Tag Heuer watch with a blue face, a Rolex diver’s watch, a Brietling Colt, an Oris watch and an Omega Seamaster were taken, as well as the Brocock Tawnado air pistol.

A Sony Vaio laptop, two Post Office books, Halifax saving certificates and a number of premium bonds were also taken.

Hampshire police spokesman Duncan Smith said: ‘A wooden door appears to have been damaged at the house, and whoever was responsible would have made a considerable amount of noise to gain entry.’
