RACIALLY abusive language was heard on board a Havant train.

The British Transport Police is appealing for witnesses after the abuse was heard on a Havant to London Waterloo service, on Friday, October 11, between 3.30pm and 4.15pm.

PC Jon Kenny said: ‘A passenger on board the 2.40pm Havant to London Waterloo service noticed a group of men being very noisy during the journey.

‘While onboard, the group started to make loud racial comments some of which were overheard and directed at passengers on the carriage between Guildford and London Waterloo.’

It is believed the men were travelling to London for the football match between England and Montenegro.
