TWO men stole a computer tablet from a woman after arranging to buy it from her.

The woman, 22, had posted an advert on the classifieds website Gumtree to sell her Samsung Galaxy tablet and agreed to meet the buyers in The Square in Knowle Village.

But the two men she met grabbed it from her before throwing fake money at her and running off. It happened at 8.40pm on Tuesday.

The first man was white, in his late twenties, around 5ft 9ins tall, stocky and had an Eastern European accent. He wore a black beanie hat.

The second man was around the same age, white, but much more stocky than the other man. He wore a woolly jumper.

PC Emma Purser from Bishop’s Waltham Safer Neighbourhoods team said: ‘The victim has told us there were two members of the public in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.

‘One was a woman walking a dog and the other was a man who indicated he may have seen the suspects hiding.’

She added it is believed to be an isolated incident. Call 101.
