POLICE are appealing to a man who helped a woman who had been assaulted.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman, was attacked behind Madeira Parade shops and flats in Bognor, between 10.45am and 11.10am on February 27.

She was left with bruising to her face.

A man stopped to help the victim and the police are eager to trace him.

A 26-year-old man from Bognor has since been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm.

He has been bailed until March 23.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting serial 0532 of 27/2.
