A YOUNG man has been arrested after being allegedly caught with a hammer at a supermarket in Gosport.

Police were called to Waitrose in Stoke Road, Gosport, at 1.55pm today.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in nearby South Street shortly after.

He is now helping police with their enquiries.
