A MAN was arrested after immigration officers searched a barbers.
A team from South Central Home Office Immigration Enforcement visited Ramze Barbers, in Gosport, and questioned staff to see if they had the right to live and work in the UK.
One man was arrested yesterday at 11am after being found to have entered the country illegally. He is in immigration detention while his case is processed.
The firm, in Stoke Road, was served a notice warning and could be fined up to £20,000 unless the employer demonstrates right to work document checks were carried out.
Immigration Minister James Brokenshire said: ‘Anyone who thinks the UK is a soft touch should be in no doubt – if you are here illegally, we will take action to stop you from working, renting a flat or opening a bank account.’
