POLICE have made three arrests after a man was robbed in Portsmouth.

A 19-year-old man was walking along Fratton Road when he passed three men outside Domino’s Pizza. As he went into Somers Road North he saw the same three men who ran over to him, just after 3am on Friday, March 30.

They pushed him to the ground and began kicking him before going through his pockets and stealing his keys, wallet and mobile phone.

The men ran off towards Holbrook Road. The victim chased them and was helped by two passers-by who also called the police. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Det Con Verity Lamb said: ‘We are particularly keen to speak to the two men who came to the man’s aid following the incident. Cars were also seen to drive past and a number people were walking in the area prior to the robbery.’

Three 17-year-old men from the Portsmouth area have been arrested and bailed until June 15.
